The Sandpaper May 2020

Community Clean Up Day was held April 25 and was a HUGE success with heartwarming community involvement. Some kudos and shout outs are in order….
  • Shout Out to Shawn Gearhart for suggesting this event and edging the sidewalks!
  • Shout Out to Linda Bean for cleaning all the mailboxes!  Thank you, Linda, they look brand new!
  • Shout Outs to JoDale and Glenn Bentz for starting with us Friday evening and again all-day Saturday to help pull the sod up and clean up!
  • Shout Out to Don Dahl for helping all-day with sweeping, edging & clean up!
  • Shout out to Bonnie Grimble and Lin Harrell for sweeping, trimming a neighbor’s tree, and picking up all the trash in the community and along 96th street!
  •  Shout out to Debbie Phillips and Bonnie Salmon for sweeping and blowing trash from their areas and the street!
  • Shout out to Dave Sears for sweeping and back breaking clean up!
  • If we forgot anyone, thank you so very much for joining in and helping!!
It was inspiring to see residents care about our community and get involved.  Everyone in encouraged to keep their own area picked up from fallen twigs, weed front areas, trim bushes, and assist other neighbors that need assistance.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this worthwhile event.
Summer 2020 Projects:  Building 5 and 6 are set to be painted this summer. This is part of a multiyear plan to repaint each building to freshen the community.
Pool : The Indiana State Board of Health has provided guidelines for opening community pools this summer. After reviewing the options, the board (along with input from some homeowners) has decided to open the pool however, at this time until we are able to go back to our normal pool guidelines, the following regulations will be in place:
This is your community; your ongoing concern & care helps make Sandpiper Bay a pleasant place to live.
Pool opening date will be when Marion County moves to ‘Phase 3’.  Stay tuned.
  • The hours will remain the same.  7 days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm
  • To accommodate Social Distancing, at this time, only 10 homeowners will be allowed in the pool area at one time
  • At this time, no guests allowed
  • The restrooms and pool area (pool ladders, doorknobs, etc.) will be sanitized daily at 8:30 am by members of the ‘Pool Committee’.  They will be provided the equipment based on the sanitation requirements from the State
  •  A Sanitation Sheet will be filled out and visible to all homeowners when the area was last sanitized, the time and by whom
  • The pool furniture will NOT be put out.  Homeowners will need to bring their own chairs, use only those chairs and take them with you when they leave
  •   No communal toys allowed

Again, this is all being done in response to Covid-19 and the state’s recent recommendations for pools and will be lifted as soon as we are able.

Thank you to the Pool Committee for making this happen!!

Other Reminders:
Watch for updates on the website.  http://sandpiperbay.psgcondos.com/.
Please email info@psgcondos.com with your current contact information and your preferred method of contact if you have not already done so. (Email, text, mail or phone) It is vital that the Board and Property Management can reach you

Thank you for having your exterior lights on at night.

We have received complaints and seen dogs that are being tethered outside with no homeowner in sight. Dogs are not to be tethered outside and left unattended at any time. Please be present when giving your pet some fresh air and make sure that the tether length does not allow your pet outside your property. Barking dogs can be disruptive to your neighbors and invites complaints.

The doggie bag containers will be reiflled this week. We apologize for the delay.

When planning to plant and refresh your outside areas this summer, remember that an Architectural Form that can be found on our website, must be submitted, and approved prior to work being done. This is not required for planting in your front area, only new changes.

The fish are jumpin'! Please remember that fishing guests must be accompanied by a homeowner.

You are encouraged to please support and return your ballot in the return envelope found on the SPB Property Ownership Section 1. The deadline is June 1st.
Ideas to think and talk about
We have received ideas from homeowners and would like your input at the next meeting in July (keep your fingers crossed):
  • Communal Fire Pit.  This idea is for a fire pit area in the grassy area by the pool
  • Trash Can storage.  What could we do to make the large green trash cans not be so unattractive?
  •  What do we think about getting a large communal trash bin, placed in the basketball court area every spring for heavy items to be discarded?
  • Basketball Goal.  Not in the budget for this year, but it has been requested that the basketball goal be re-installed.

Architectural Change Approval

As summer fast approaches many owners are planning to make updates to the exterior of their home. The HOA would like to remind you that you must get approval from Sandpiper Bay Architectural Committee before any changes to the exterior. This includes windows, doors, decks, storm doors, expanding plant beds etc. The Architectural control form is available on your HOAs website.
